Many of the non-Muslims I know have asked about Ramadhan - the nine month of the Islamic calendar - and why I would put myself through the process of fasting from the break of dawn until sunset every day for a month. So, to that end, I thought I'd write why here so that it's all in one place for people to read at their own leisure and pace :)
A somewhat unsuccessful attempt at explaining mountain-climbing and double-pendulums as an analogy of relationships...
I was recently blessed/privileged enough to be able to go to Hawaii as part of my work (collecting observational data at the James Clerk Maxwell Telescope, located near the summit of Mauna Kea). Of all the amazing experiences I had, though, there was one thing in particular that stood out to me, and that was what my travel-buddy did, for which I am very grateful :)
Certainly haven't forgotten or abandoned this site; just an 'overdensity' of being busy, it seems! Will re-commence posting soon, insha Allah!

Photography wasn't something I think I always wanted to do since a very young age (like becoming an astronaut, a paleontologist, somebody that knows everything, and somebody who generally helps people and fixes problems), but it was something that I developed an interest in probably during my early teenage years (alongside my desire to make films and whatnot). I'm not sure if I have a philosophy behind photography, other than if I see something I find very visually aesthetic/appealing, I'd like to share it with others so that they, too, may be able to enjoy it as much as I do, if not more.
